The final result of the entrance exam for admission to Delhi University’s Cluster Innovation Centre’s (CIC) “B.Tech in Humanities” course (2012-13) has been announced. The entrance exam for admission to B.Tech in Humanities offered by Delhi University was held on 26th August 2012.
Click here to see the list of the provisionally selected candidates who need to complete the admission formalities with the office of Cluster Innovation Center, University of Delhi, Rugby Sevens Building, University Stadium, Delhi – 110 007 between 10:00 am to 01.00 pm from 10th - 12th September 2012.
The provisionally selected candidates need to bring the following:
1. Admit card in original issued for the entrance examination at CIC.
2. Certificates in original for verification (10th onwards)
3. A Demand Draft of Rs. 6000/- in favour of ‘The Registrar, University of Delhi’ payable in Delhi.
4. 3 recent passport size photographs
5. College leaving certificate
6. Original SC/ST/OBC certificates, issued by the competent authority.
7. Two sets of photocopies of the mark sheets and Certificates (self-attested).
The offer of admission will automatically stand cancelled if the admission formalities are not completed within stipulated date i.e. by 01.00 pm of 12th September 2012 and the vacant seats will be offered to other candidates in order of merit.
Admission of the selected candidates is provisional & subject to verification of original documents/certificates & fulfilment of all criteria as per the University rules.
About B.Tech in Humanities Course offered by CIC, Delhi University
The University of Delhi (DU) has 80 constituent colleges offering a wide range of courses in several streams and disciplines. The proposed course (B.Tech in Humanities) is part of Delhi University’s attempt to start India’s first “meta college” and it seeks to enable students to draw upon the resources, talent and expertise available in different colleges. Instead of prescribing a fixed set of courses, this course presents an opportunity to the student to design her own degree. The student will be admitted to the Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) and will be required to take some basic courses in semesters 1 and 8 at the Cluster Innovation Centre to gain competence in core areas such as “Mathematical Awareness”, “Art of Communication”, “Innovation Management”, “Social Enquiry” and “Legal Literacy”.
In semesters 2 - 7, students can choose courses from the large variety available in various colleges, under the guidance of a mentor. Students will be given the freedom to choose courses to specialize in a particular stream such as “Journalism”, “Education”, “Historical Tourism”, “Counselling” and “Art and Design”. This would equip them to choose appropriate professions for themselves.
One of the distinctive aspects of the proposed programme is its emphasis on hands-on projects, virtual learning, internships and group based activities, rather than relying exclusively on class room learning. Inter and trans-disciplinarity will be encouraged for a holistic understanding of Humanities.
