First day of college is one day people have been dreaming about since ages, not just you but your family is also very excited. It’s the day your endless shopping, your new hair cut, your shoes, your new bag, new phone and the new you  is put to use. 1. Sleepless Nights

Insomnia will cast its spell on you the night before your FIRST DAY at college.  Your mind will be occupiedwith thoughts about the new campus, new friends, the new look, a few Bollywood moments (whether you are going to have them or not), ragging and a lot many other things. So your first day definitely makes you realize that you just can’t get enough sleep to cope up with the big day coming up.

2. All the shopping you been doing since months is a total waste!

You have been shopping since months, planning this since days but as the moment arrives you somehow are not satisfied. Despite the 1000 dress rehearsals the final look doesn’t gratify your heart. Finally the clichéd reaction ‘I have nothing to wear’ is all you keep telling yourself. So, no matter what you do, how much you try, dressing up for the first day will just not satisfy you.

After all college is not what the movies have been fooling us with, reality bites! You will have only one companion in the first half of college and that is your phone which helps you give every minute update to your school gang.

4. No point hiding, the Seniors will Always find you !

Yes, ragging is a punishable offence but that doesn’t stop the seniors from taking a formal introduction which at times crosses the line. You pretend you are invisible and evade heading out of your comfort zone to avoid attracting any attention towards yourself. No matter how much you try to change your paths or hide yourself the seniors will spot your nervous new faces and will catch hold of you. Honestly, the introductions, the one minute dance sessions, the singing, all are fun, so don’t be scared, enjoy yourselves, because after all, you can’t hide forever!

5. Forever Lost

Your first day will obviously be full of confusion. Reaching your classroom will be the biggest battle for you. Washroom, cafeteria, library, admin office and all the other locations you that are heading for will be difficult to trace. Just remember people around you be it teachers, seniors or the admin staff are there to help you.

6. By EOD you will have one Person whom you Like

By the end of the day you are sure to find that one person you really like and are going to be friends with, for the longest time or at least that month. Well, in few cases it could also last a few weeks but who cares your first day will end with a friend by your side.

Believe it or not after finding your one friend, your next step will be identifying the one annoying person whom you going to hate all through the semester. The hatred could be stimulated by the way they talk, the walk, the attitude, the attire, the hair, the name, the voice anything and everything. First day of college hatred basically needs no reason.

8. You can now Enter the Forbidden Zone

The good part is you realize that you officially are allowed to enter the forbidden zone for a lot of things. Mobile phones won’t get confiscated if you use them in class, just don’t overdo it. You can enter and exit the class without taking permissions. Canteen doesn’t have fixed hours you can go there at your own wish and eat your hearts out!

9. You are going to be one Rich Person. More pocket money, wohooo!

The greatest perk of entering the college life is a gigantic increase in your pocket money. Parents tend be on the emotional side about their kids stepping into the next phase of their lives, hence they often end up adding weight to their kid’s wallets. So yes, college does make you feel like you own the world.

10. You find the Right Attitude!

The most important realization of college life is your independence. You are big enough to take your own decisions and head out wherever you want. The curfew of entering the house is also pushed by a few hours. No longer a kid, you are a new person with a dazzling new personality.  You walk into your house as if you have just conquered the world. 

11. School Friends are Friends for Life

Once the eventful day gets over you just want to meet your school friends and share your first day of college experiences. You are full of excitement, gossip and new tales about the events of the day. You realize how much your school friends mean to you and that they are your friends for life.
